HUMANS

DOCUMENTARY

The war has been going on for almost 4 year now. When my country started this insane and aggressive war, I realised that it was necessary to at least record what was happening — to film the people who had been subjected to this ordeal. The war is dividing us more and more, tearing apart normal human connections, and my film is an attempt to tell the stories of completely different people from Ukraine, Europe and Russia, to show how the war has changed their lives. I wanted to bring all these different people together in my film.

'Ordinary Ukrainians, ordinary Europeans and ordinary Russians are pretty nice people,’ says one of my characters. And I agree.

I became convinced of this while working on the film.

I think the film 'HUMANS' shows that normal people have much more in common than one might think when looking at the numerous public debates.

I am grateful to each of the film's characters for their stories and for the trust they placed in me. People are trying to resist the dehumanisation that always accompanies war. And they are succeeding.

No war!
